Summary of Oral Health Provisions in House-Passed Bill
The House of Representatives took the historic step in passing a health care reform package on March 21, 2010. The package was completed with two votes that included the passage of the Senate health reform bill that was passed in December of last year and the second vote approving a budget reconciliation bill that included numerous “fixes”. Although oral health provisions were not significantly altered from the original Senate bill, one change included in the budget reconciliation that has not been covered by CDHP previously, and is not listed below, is the exemption of dental benefits subject to the high-cost plan excise tax. The above attached PDF is a summary of oral health provisions included in final bill, organized under the categories of Coverage and Access, Prevention and Infrastructure and Workforce and Training.
