Dental Visits for Medicaid Children: Analysis & Policy Recommendations

By: Burton Edelstein

Recent publications, including a report by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and an article in the June 2012 issue of Pediatrics, note an increase in dental visits for children enrolled in Medicaid. This brief provides further analysis, examining the various factors that may explain this increase in utilization and how these children received care. Policy recommendations are also given to further improve access to and quality of dental care for underserved populations.

Please find that full issue brief in the above attached PDF.
